Research

With its partners, the California Digital Library is actively engaged in applied research that contributes to the development of digital library content and services and the progress of scholarly communication.

Current grant-funded activities:

  • Local History Digital Resources project: Supported by Library Services and Technology Act grant funding administered by the California State Library, this multi-year project is exploring a model to aggregate, preserve, and provide permanent public access to local history digital resources via the Online Archive of California.
  • Web at Risk: Through the Library of Congress' National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program, the CDL has been awarded a three-year grant to develop web archiving tools that will be used by libraries to capture, curate, and preserve collections of web-based government and political information.
